  • Throughout my BFA Capstone class, the assignment was to discover a contemporary societal issue, and how could we approach this issue with design methodology. My particular topic was through a global, humanistic point of view. I examined how often some societies today still lack cultural understanding. I believed that design can contribute to the cultural conversation by enhancing visual communications that convey the tolerance and education of diversity. My goal was to provide artwork that could help the intended audience cross any xenophobic boundary, resulting in a crowd able to embrace different perspectives. I had in mind to emphasize the importance of graphic design's role in shaping cultural tolerance.

    NOTE: This project is a hypothetical project where the olympic games would be hosted in the city of San Antonio, though it is very unlikely that San Antonio would be selected for bidding. Higher candidates would include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, or in the actual case of Boston winning the bid for 2024.
  • Previous Logos
  • Many may notice the creative evolution of previous Olympic logos. Transitioning from monochromatic designs of the early 20th century to more flat and multicolor designs from recent years. These are some logos for the summer Olympic games from 1924 to 2012.
  • Selecting the color combination that compliments this brand’s visual identity was challenging. The color palette consists of primary colors, and secondary colors. I believe that the primary colors are ideal for the logo’s shape and concept, and the secondary colors represent more the tone and vision of a cultural festivity experience within San Antonio.
