This is a scene I spent just under an hour working on, it's sort of a run down garage/auto shop. This was made in Maya 2018, below the final render are various "In progress" renders from throughout the project.
I started the scene by blocking out most of the basic shapes for the main building and the walls around it. This was to get a good idea of where everything was going to go before I spent time detailing it.
This is where the scene was at 30 minutes into working on it, all that was really left were the background buildings as well as a good amount of work trying to figure out how to use the new Arnold rendering.
This was a render using Maya Hardware 2.0, before some final lighting changes and adding in the quick sky background to fill in the gap.
